Description
The brick house is located on a land with 1375 square meters area in the south of the Kordan region. This house belongs to a family that intends to spend most of the week in a quiet, independent place with full amenities. However, they also wanted a house close to their work.
One of the challenges that influenced the design was creating a safe and private place for this family. In this regard, the building and courtyards were located to have privacy but aren't closed and limited. The definition of a garden pit in the backyard helped to achieve this purpose. Thus, the backyard has become the center of attention, and all the attention of the building focuses on it. In other words, the building depends on the inside rather than the outside!
According to the employer's request to create surface differences, the floors are at different levels, resulting in various spaces, functions, and user experiences. In addition, by designing various vertical communications, fluid motion circulation is available for the user. Finally, there is a high void in the middle of the building, which provides a visual connection between the floors and controls the lighting throughout the year.
The public areas are on the ground floor, private rooms on the second, and an entertainment area on the third floor, adjacent to a terrace with a broad view. Also, the pool and its related spaces are at the lowest level of the backyard to both create privacy and provide a suitable view for the interior spaces.
The employer requested a modern house that had a warm and traditional feeling. We tried to meet their demands by designing details and selecting materials. The interior spaces of this project have a modern, minimalist feeling with a light color palette. While by using brick and creating patterns in the outdoor spaces, a traditional warm feeling is achieved. In fact, the brick house is somewhere between the past and the present.
