Description

The main challenge for the project "Pendar" was the lot size. The first step was to determine the main accesses based on the plot slope and adjacent pathways and distribute the functions based on client needs across two rectangular levels, imitating the lot proportions. The ground floor accommodates public functions, while the first floor hosts the bedrooms and more private areas of the house. The design sought to harness the lot’s location potentials and take advantage of the outstanding scenery of the forest on the north side and the Alam- Kouh mountains in the south. To achieve this, the upper floor was rotated to frame these beauties with terraces and windows.

Taking inspiration from the mountainous nature of the location, the sloping roof and walls were designed to emulate the surrounding landscape. Additionally, to avoid significant contrast between the building and its context, a simple white material was chosen for the facade.

Considering the short distance between the building and the western pathway, a wall was designed as a barrier to provide privacy. However, this wall incorporates openings to maintain the view from the terraces. Furthermore, the wall stands monumentally at the entrance next to a water feature to define the building’s access point more effectively.
