Description

The house No. 1090 is located on a 1200 square meter lot in Kordan region in Alborz province in Iran. The property is connected to street from north and south. The adjacent east and west lots are similar size, residential lots.One of the key moments of the journey in this house is the lower level which is an extension of the pool deck and the exterior green spaces designed to be used as a covered backyard patio.

The middle level, which consists of main living room, kitchen and dining space, provides different experience of the front yard and the green spaces through the triple height space overlooking Sit and Chat area in the lower level. As one ascends to the upper level, which is mainly composed of bedrooms and the upper living room, multiple void spaces allow the light travel between different levels of the house. They also provide a visual and physical link.

Exposed concrete, wood, and green spaces are the main design elements which have been used throughout exterior and interior of the house and create a sense of rhythm and harmony between indoor and outdoor spaces. In order to enhance energy efficiency, the building envelope is composed of cast-in-place concrete wall assembly which consists of one layer of exposed structural concrete wall as well as an additional layer of exposed concrete wall with thermal insulation in between.
