The existing building, on the south side of the Saba Boulevard is located where Jordan street meets the Saba Boulevard, is a building complex with one commercial unit on the ground floor, five-story offices and 4 levels under the ground which are allocated for parking spaces. This complex possessed by some international firms as well as BAT corporation.

During the last three years BAT has been expanded significantly and occupied more spaces for itself in the mentioned building and its area expanded from 400 m2 in the first floor to 2500 m2 in the fourth floor.  This expansion occurred rapidly in a short time and causes several issues and problems for the employees and their performances in their work-place.

At the first step we started to study and analysis the working activities, organizational chart and interior relations, to figuring out the existing condition of the project. BAT structure has a core management that each part has its own director and is in connection with the general director of the company. To find a better understanding of how BAT Pars Company works, we draw several diagrams from how employees work and their daily activities to their sending report system and Inter-organizational relationships and then we reviewed this relations and diagrams.

In the next step we provided employees with some questionnaires and asked them to note their wishes and expectations in addition to their everyday working issues and problems. By this approach we followed two goals, first we wanted to hear their problems from the employees themselves and don't rely only on our own perceptions. Furthermore, we tried to identify each single of the employees' characteristic and accommodate a particular space for him/her in accordance with his/her tastes.

After studding and analyzing and according to the,  from one hand the existing limits and potentials and the other hand the organizational structure of the BAT, we concluded that we should consider the space as a complete fluid matter in this design that a management core is floating at the center of it. This core is considered transparent to while preserving the openness of the space, provides the managers' privacy. In this way, intimacy, fluidity and transparency became the chief forming parameters of the space. Also the main idea for designing the whole project was on the basis of the transparent space without borders to maximize the connection within the members of working environment.
