Description
Aban Residential project is five stories building in Aban Street, Tehran, Iran.
This neighborhood is one of the old areas in the Capital, where its original urban fabric and context is preserved. The designed apartment also maintains these features by offering a pure, familiar house with a simple facade, which lays in its context. This building contains two underground levels, a duplex and a separate unit. Function distribution and fulfilling the client needs were the main focus of this project. Aside from the two residential units, the program includes two yards, an indoor pool, a gym, a roof garden, a library, a cinema room and two offices.
The northern yard is a private and quiet space but the southern one is an outstanding entrance that performs as the first impression of the project. A part of the southern yard is sunken that creates a cozy yard for the office on the first underground level and provides natural light for the pool and the gym below. A bridge is designed on top of this sunken yard to connect the site’s pedestrian entrance to the ground level. A small glass water feature in the sunken yard not only provides a relaxing environment but also allows light penetration to the second underground level where the gym, pool and the second office are located.
In the duplex unit, Kitchen and living room are on the ground floor and the library and bedrooms are scattered on the first floor. An individual unit is on the second floor. Terraces on different levels of this building in addition to split the uniform façade and interact with the southern yard, provide precious semi open spots for the residential units. The placement of the HVAC units on the sides of the roof offers a flat open space for roof parties and family gatherings.
