Description
The site of the villa is located in Mazandaran province, Iran and is located in one of divided lots of an orange garden. First, we moved and irrigated the trees to save them in preparation process of the site. The regular way of building of surrounded villas is an area of 260 sqm of built area in two floors; in which living rooms and kitchen are on the first and bedrooms are on the upper level.
By using this method, the building's volume would been located on one side of the lot and the open space on the other side, used as the parking and a place to plant the flowers and trees. So, in this case, the open space of the project were mainly been used to define the entrance of the villa. As the client wanted a pool in open space, the building method of the villa – with the same allowed building area and height – completely changed and at the first step, the upper level rotated on the ground floor to make an "L" shaped organization which added a pilot space on the ground floor and a more useful open space between the volumes to build the pool.
In addition, we could have a double height space in the overlap of the floors to be used as the central space of the project – the private living room. To achieve the best case of locating the spaces, the project's lines were designed freely to adapt the geometry of the site and to divide the built spaces; in a way that no neighboring spaces were divided by walls and each space plays its more independent role in the composition of the project.
To adapt the design with the free lines of the plan, the volume composition was changed to surface (wall) composition; surfaces that move freely both in plan and façade and diversify the skyline. The kitchen has no defined border with its surrounding spaces and is located in the center of the ground level. It is connected to both living room and private living room and has visual connection with the central open space through a window. The access of the guest bedroom is through the living room and the master bedroom is connected and separated from the other spaces by a bridge.
