A Call for participation to architects and designers
Future enthusiasts identify the technological and biological breakthroughs of this century as introduction to unexpected changes in personal lifestyle and social interactions of humans. Under the current circumstances, the experience of ‘staying at home’ provokes us all to rethink our relationship with the space within which we live: the ‘Home.’
Spending more time inside a home and limiting our associations from the exterior condition, whether desirable or not, changes our minimum expectations of the domestic space, and, challenges the contemporary well-established typologies and paradigms that have evolved over the past century.
It seems that a sort of computational/ analytical glitch has happened in our conception of the contemporary ‘Home’, and as a result, the ‘Home’ is not ready to receive our being beyond a certain point.
This campaign tries to challenge the current paradigms pertaining to domestic space and the ‘Home’ in a hope to expand its affordance in receiving our being in it. The scenario of living at ‘Home, alone or with neighbors, needs to be critically re-evaluated.
The campaign invites all architects and designers to participate in this exercise of critical re-evaluation and share their ideas.
